King Estate Winery Tasting Notes:

2009 next: Riesling

Next Riesling is made with grapes from the Wallula Vineyard in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills AVA, a place many believe to be one of the finest Riesling vineyards in the world.
Fermented in
100% stainless steel temperature controlled tanks, and 100% sur lie aged for five months. Light straw color with aromas of orange zest, lime, and pear followed by citrus fruit, candied apple, papaya on the palate.  A light and lively wine perfect for summer patio sipping.

2009 King Estate Pinot Gris

King Estate Pinot Gris has become the benchmark for Pinot Gris in America and their 2009 vintage shines with the characteristics that have made it so popular. 100% stainless steel fermented and aged sur lie for 5 months the crisp, light wine is filled with green apple, honeysuckle and floral aromas followed by flavors of citrus, pear and apple.  A lively wine with good texture and an easy drinking style.

2009 Acrobat Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir achieves an all too rare goal in this day and age, delivering a high quality, Oregon Pinot Noir at a reasonable price with grapes from King Estate organic vineyards and other sustainably farmed vineyards throughout Western Oregon. Aged 6 months in partially new French oak the wine is filled with cherry, raspberry and cola with a bold, round finish.

2008 NxNW Cabernet Sauvignon

North by Northwest wines come from grapes grown in the Columbia River Basin of Washington and Oregon, especially suited for great Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.  The 2008 NxNW blends Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from a variety of vineyards in the area producing a lush, elegant, varietally correct wine aged 15 months in partially new French oak and filled with cherry, licorice and spice with just a slight hint of cocoa and coffee on the finish
