Happy Birthday Dallas Uncorked!!!

White wine selections for our birthday celebration: 

VILLA PONZI PINOT GRIGIO:  Pale, straw-yellow in color with a bright and flowery fragrance. Firm acidity gives Pinot Grigio a mouth watering appeal. Generally offers nice mid-palate balance with a short, clean finish. It pairs well with hors-d’oeuvres, white meats and fish and is meant to be drunk young.

LANCATAY CHARDONNAY:  2,500 cases were made of this 100% Chardonnay from vineyards in Barrancas, Argentina at an altitude of 2,560 feet above sea level.  Grapes are manually harvested in February and then pressed in pneumatic presses, fermented in a controlled temperature and aged in French and American oak barrels for 6 months. A bright green yellow, the wine reveals delicate notes of buttery pineapple and banana. It is a full-bodied, fruity yet balanced Chardonnay. An ideal companion for shellfish, white meats, and pastas.

Red wine selections for our birthday celebration 

LANCATAY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2004: 5,000 cases made, 30% of the wine sees new American and French oak for 4 months, designed to be the easy drinking, fruity with just a “touch of oak” kind of wine.  Aromas of fruit, well defined tannins, and roundness with a long finish are some of the characteristics that make this perfect with red meat and robust dishes

LANCATAY MALBEC 2004: 5,000 cases, same oak treatment as above, same model. This 100% Malbec is deep purple-red in color, has aromas of plum and cherry, and exhibits sweet tannins that are complex and persistent on the palate. It is an ideal match for meat and cheese..

TURNER ROAD MERLOT:  Grown in California’s Central Coast The temperate climate and moist, alluvial soils are ideal for the cultivation of world-class Merlot. Turner Road’s rendition displays the rich cherry fruit, smooth texture and gentle spice tones that make Merlot a favorite of red wine lovers. The influence of French and American oak enhances the wine’s complexity and mouth-feel.
