Uncorked Goals

We are dedicated to providing an outlet for both the sophisticated wine aficionado and the curious novice, to further their knowledge and appreciation of wine, in an informative and social atmosphere.  We welcome all who have a passion for the grape to join us on this adventure.  Focusing our educational efforts around tastings and dinners, we will introduce our members to some of the less commercialized wineries, varietals and regions, generating an exceptional experience at each event.

Who We Are

Dallas Uncorked Board of Directors

Hayley Hamilton, Dallas Uncorked’s founder and president, continues to inspire an appreciation and passion for wine in the Dallas community.  Seven years ago in the middle of her career as a executive within the television industry to start Dallas Uncorked with a hope to bring unique, educational and entertaining wine events to our Dallas members. In 2005 she continued her wine education by completing the International Sommelier Guild's Wine Fundamentals Certification.  Over the past few years she has expanded her wine knowledge through in-depth study and travel to the wine regions of Mendoza , Argentina ; Veneto , Italy ; and Willamette Valley , Oregon , focusing on the small production, family owned wineries, which are truly unique and special.  In July of 2010 she left the corporate world as Vice President for The Nielsen Company to focus solely on the world of food and wine with a little travel for good measure, and writing about and enjoying the celebration of entertaining. She is currently the wine and spirits column for D Magazine in Dallas, as well as a contributor to Pink Memo in Dallas and New York City and the soon to be published Fearless Critic Guide for Dallas.   She looks forward to teaching, learning about and enjoying wine with fellow Dallas Uncorked members and friends; and ensuring each event brings something fresh and exciting to our growing membership.

Gary Cogill is an Emmy award-winning journalist, serving for 24 years as the film critic for WFAA-TV in Dallas (ABC), where he reviewed more than 10,000 films and conducted more than 20,000 interviews including Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, Stephen Spielberg , Clint Eastwood,  Robin Williams, Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Anthony Hopkins,  George Clooney, Julia Roberts... the list is endless.  His favorite films include “To Kill A Mockingbird”, “Lawrence Of Arabia,” “Schindler’s List”, and “Waiting For Guffman” (which he considers to be a comic masterpiece).  Gary is also a much sought after speaker and moderator, hosting on stage countless “Evenings With” John Travolta, Robert Duvall, David Mamet, Stephen Sondheim, Ken Burns, Danny Glover, Brooke Shields, Martin Sheen and more. Gary is currently the managing partner for Lascaux Films in Dallas, Texas. www.lascauxfilms.com  Gary’s love for film is only surpassed by his love for his two daughters.

Chablis Lindquist thanks her mother for deriving her name from the description of a Chablis…elegant, decadent, effervescent, blonde, agreeable, with great character. Raised on gourmet foods, Cabernet and Veuve Clicquot, Chablis developed a refined palate for fine food and wine. Her writings about cuisine and decadent living can be found in Texas-based publications such as Ultra Magazine and My Table Magazine. Chablis hopes to someday leave the corporate world as a marketing professional and throw parties for a living. Her affiliation with Dallas Uncorked is a labor of love for the good of wine -- Chablis believes in the Dallas Uncorked dream to introduce Dallas to the intricacies of wine.

Anne Smith is a self-described "wino-in-training." Though exposed to wine over many years, she never took an interest, watching while her sister and children took to the grape with great enthusiasm.  However, she says, wine is infectious and now she and her husband have caught the bug. Her hopes for Dallas Uncorked are to develop an organization for the educational good of the novice as well as the expert, and to see just what she’s been missing in the land of the vines.
